Wheatland, MO (July 2, 2018) – In the heartland of America, motorsports captures the attention of the masses. The wide variety of motorsports & entertainment featured at Wheatland, Missouri's "Diamond In The Dirt" also known as Lucas Oil Speedway, includes Dirt Circle Track Racing, Tractor Pull Competitions, Drag Boat Racing, Bull Riding, shooting sports and most recently off road short course racing. The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) has created a permanent short course venue to foster off road motorsports in the mid-west.
In case you have not heard, Alumi Craft off road race cars would be the optimal choice for any enthusiast looking to gain experience in off road racing for the first time as well as any seasoned professional looking to up their game and compete for the big win. For 2x Pro Buggy Champion Darren "HotSauce" Hardesty Jr. winning in his Alumi Craft race car has come easy.
HotSauce has picked up his fourth win in a row by sweeping LOORRS Round's 4 & 5 at Lucas Oil Speedway's new off road short course track in Wheatland. Before that "HotSauce" had swept the weekend at Estero Beach in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
For Round 4, Darren qualified the #99 Alumi Craft Pro Buggy second fastest behind Elliot Watson, driving his #3 Alumi Craft Pro Buggy. During Saturday's Pro Buggy event, Darren capitalized on a threat and battled for the race lead. On Lap 7 mid-race, the opportunity presented itself, Darren assumed the lead and took home the win. On a technical off road course like what has been created at Lucas Oil Speedway, it all comes down to having the right equipment and driving skills to put the race car in the right place at the right time. Elliot Watson followed up and managed to grab a 2nd place finish.
Racing in the mid-west is kind of considered a national past time for the folks in rural communities. But like anything else the weather can be a controlling factor. Round 5 saw sudden heavy rain showers which flooded the track and made racing questionable. The LOORRS officials did not want to disappoint the large crowd so decided to shift the schedule and rotated the Pro Buggies fourth in the session. This meant the fans would get what they wanted and the rear wheel drive buggies would get to race on a manageably sloppy & muddy track.
Darren "HotSauce" Hardesty Jr. took on the challenge and nearly went wire to wire uncontested to take the win. Following Darren, up and coming star Trey D Gibbs was able to capture his first Pro Buggy National Career podium, taking the 3rd spot on the box in his #15 Pro Buggy.
"What a race. The track was super wet and super slick. I was doing everything I could to keep it going straight, but was super fun out there. I could not be happier. That is four straight back-to-back wins and I couldn't ask for anything more out of my Alumi Craft," said HotSauce, who is seeking his third straight Pro Buggy points championship. "The next thing we pursue is the championship and I think I have the crew and the car to pull it off!"
